ABOUT
My path has been an unexpected and serendipitous one.
As a partner to my spouse and best friend and mother of four passionate student-athletes, I have piloted the move of our household more than 15 times from homes in the cities and suburbs of Boston, New York, Chicago, and Los Angeles. I have been required and very happy to consider my efforts each day of the last decades as my life’s work…
Home is the theme of my story, despite the irony of so many places where we have designed our priorities and lifestyle, hung our many hats, collected artwork, and dried out the hockey equipment. Whether it be a temporary rental, a full gut historic renovation, a new build at a property totaled by fire, or a suburban renewal remodel—and we have done each of these, several more than once—I focused every project on creating spaces that celebrate comfort, beauty, and authenticity.
Even with tight budgets and timetables, I loved having new settings to apply changing ideas, original solutions, and vision. Along the way, I have brought this perspective and approach to several investment properties as well. Every property chosen was a financial opportunity. Making strategic and well-timed real estate decisions, finding talented and transparent professionals of all kinds to partner with, and developing a distinctive approach to architectural decisions and finish design— as far as the bottom line, this has fortunately been a successful body of work.
It is this portfolio that has become Stated Design. And it is still absolutely all about the creating of a unique and personal sense of home—spaces that are defined by distinctive aesthetics, functional ease, memories and family.
Please reach out if you have ideas for partnering.
